To Much Support For Metals? [Mt.Coronet Card Review]

Hello everyone, my name is Jay from BrogamingTCG and today we will be giving the new stadium card, Mt. Coronet, a look. As many of you know their has been tons of support from metal type decks that has been reveal in the upcoming SM5 set, Ultra Prism. Mt. Coronet tops it all off with its great ability to accelerate energy on to Pokemon.

Now let's take a look at the ability. It translates as, "Once during each players turn, that player may put 2 [M] Energy from their discard pile into the hand." Now in many cases this will only be in metal type decks, but that is one thing that I would like to point out. This card does not only apply to metal type deck, but to colorless decks as well. Decks such as Silvally-GX and Drampa-GX which both cards need 3 colorless energy to attack. Both decks I could see playing this card and having a more suitable place in the meta after this cards release. Though looking at other cards that will be released along side this card we see Dusk Mane Necrozma-GX and now possibly the new Solgaleo-GX that was resealed in Japan and may be released in this set or in the spring as a promotional card.
Dusk Mane Necrozma-GX – Metal  – HP190
Basic Pokemon (Ultra Beast)
[C][C][C] Claw Slash: 60 damage.
[M][M][M][C] Meteor Tempest: 220 damage. Discard 3 Energy from this Pokemon.
[M][M][M] Eclipse Sun GX: 250 damage. This attack can only be used if you have more Prize cards remaining than your opponent. (You can’t use more than 1 GX attack in a game.)
When your Pokemon-GX is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.
Weakness: Fire (x2)
Resistance: Psychic (-20)
Retreat: 3

Solgaleo-GX – Metal – HP250
Stage 2 – Evolves from Cosmoem
Ability: Shining Mane
Each of your Pokemon has no Weakness.
[C][C] Turbo Strike: 120 damage. Attach 2 basic Energy from your discard pile to 1 of your Benched Pokemon.
[C][C] Prominence-GX: Heal all damage from each of your Pokemon. (You can only use 1 GX attack in a game.)
When your Pokemon-GX is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.
Weakness: Fire (x2)
Resistance: Psychic (-20)
Retreat: 2

The Solgaleo-GX could really help out metal types decks and would basically put metal decks on top. Its attack Turbo Strike does the same amount of damage as Silvally-GX and attaches 1 more basic energy to 1 of the benched Pokemon for one less energy. The only benefit to Silvally over Solgaleo is the fact it is a stage 1 and has a different ability. If this card was to come out along side the others in SM5. With Mt. Coronet this card become even strong because players will be able to attach all the energy they need in one turn. There are plenty of cards to get energy to the discard pile; ultra ball, supporters, and other cards that discard from the hand. Making for a new king of the meta. From me this is quite exciting and I would say to prepare for the metal type taking over the meta. Dust of the Volcanian and Ho-Oh decks because we are going to need them.
